SYNOPSIS: THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS
The movie should be aptly titled "The Excruciating Pursuit of Happyness." Why? Because it tells the painful road Chris Gardner took to become a successful broker and in the long run a multi-millionaire.
Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith share drama spotlight in this Gabrielle Mucconni directed film.
In 1981, Chris Gardner, played by Will, was a salesman of portable bone scanners, but was having a hard time selling these items. There were long months of non-sale which pushed her family to poverty. They could not afford to pay apartment rent and buy food.
A major turning point in Gardner's pursuit of happiness was when he got accepted for an internship program in Dan Witter, a large financial institution. Even as he got the internship, his poverty woes got even bigger but so did his will to succeed. Hence, he and his son continued their pursuit against all odds. The result is priceless and the journey to it will surely make tears well up.
